Wonder Food Delivery and Takeout, the trailblazing food delivery and takeout company, has secured approximately 3,000-square-foot lease at the prestigious Ferndale Shopping Center. Owned by Ben Ashkenazy of Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, Ferndale Shopping Center spans 84,000 square feet and is anchored by prominent retailers including Step & Shop, CVS, and Gap. Situated on 6.8 acres at 1310-1340 Boston Post Road in Larchmont, NY, this shopping center is a key retail hub in the area.

Ferndale Shopping Center caters to the affluent and densely populated neighboring villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, serving a consumer base of 150,000 people with an average household income of $160,000 within a three-mile radius. The center’s impressive demographics and excellent accessibility make it an ideal location for Wonder’s innovative food delivery and takeout services.

Wonder was founded in 2018 by Marc Lore, a former Walmart executive and serial entrepreneur known for launching successful startups such as Diaper.com and Jet.com. Initially, Wonder operated a fleet of trucks delivering made-to-order meals directly to customers’ homes. Recently, the company has shifted to a brick-and-mortar approach while maintaining its delivery-centric model, offering “fast fine” cuisine crafted by acclaimed chefs like Bobby Flay and Nancy Silverton. Wonder also features proprietary brands such as Limesalt, Fred’s Meat & Bread, and Room for Dessert.

Wonder’s unique model brings around 30 restaurants under one roof within the 3,000-square-foot space, ensuring high-quality food through controlled processes and limited delivery radiuses. This vertical integration, where Wonder owns every step of the process including the brands, results in a superior customer experience.

Collaborating with top chefs to develop the menu, Wonder tests new dishes in single locations for four to nine weeks before rolling out successful items to all locations. This approach has proven to be disruptive in the food delivery industry, with Wonder boasting a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of over 60, significantly higher than the industry average, which often falls in the single digits.

With a delivery radius of approximately six minutes in urban areas and about ten minutes in suburban regions, Wonder is designed to operate efficiently in various environments. The strategic location of Ferndale Shopping Center makes it an ideal fit for Wonder’s delivery objectives in a high-density suburban market.
