Amazon, Meta and Startups Introduce New AI Wearables for Everyday Use

Amazon, Meta and several technology startups are expanding their range of artificial intelligence devices, introducing wearable assistants that record conversations, organize tasks and provide personalized interactions. The products include necklaces, wristbands, rings and handheld devices, with prices ranging from $49.99 to $299 and above.

The devices serve different purposes, from meeting transcription and productivity assistance to AI companionship and personal journaling. Some continuously process conversations, while others require users to activate their microphones.

Amazon Expands Bee Wearables With Two New Devices

Amazon introduced the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse in October 2026, following its acquisition of the startup in July 2025. According to its official announcement, the $74.99 Frontier can be worn on the wrist or attached to clothing, while the $99.99 Eclipse magnetically attaches to smartphones.

Both devices process conversations to generate summaries, reminders and suggested tasks, building on the original $49.99 Bee pendant. Amazon says audio is deleted after processing, with 14-day memory included and additional features available through an $11.99 monthly Bee Pro subscription, including integrations with Alexa+.

AI Companions Focus on Conversations and Personal Development

Friend offers a $129 AI pendant designed for companionship, using voice interactions to recognize conversational tone and send personalized messages. Its updated Friend 2.0 version includes a speaker for spoken responses, although the product has faced criticism over privacy concerns and its advertising campaign in New York.

Meta announced its Muse Charm in September 2026, a pocket-sized device designed to provide voice access to its Muse AI assistant. The company has not shipped the device, which is expected to feature a small display with a digital avatar called Jolly.

Nirva, founded by former Meta Reality Labs employees, is developing a $249 wearable that transforms spoken experiences into personal journal entries. Available as a pendant or bracelet, it analyzes communication habits and emotional patterns, with orders planned for November and initial shipments targeted for late 2026.

AI Recording Devices Target Productivity

Limitless offers a $99 conversation-recording pendant that transcribes and summarizes meetings and discussions with consent. Its companion application includes 10 hours of monthly AI features, with unlimited access available for $29 per month.

Omi, priced at $89, provides conversation summaries, task lists, scheduling assistance and personalized responses through ChatGPT integration. The device can be worn around the neck or attached near the user’s head to detect spoken commands.

Plaud’s $159 NotePin records and summarizes conversations, offering 300 free monthly transcription minutes or 1,200 minutes through an $8.33 monthly Pro subscription. The company also offers a thinner Note Pro recording device for preorder.

Handheld Devices and Smart Rings Offer Alternative Controls

The $199 Rabbit R1 combines a touchscreen and rotating camera with AI capabilities for tasks such as ordering food, booking travel and controlling applications. Software updates have also introduced Creations, allowing users to develop customized tools and games.

Meanwhile, Sandbar’s Stream ring uses a touch-activated microphone for recording notes, communicating with an AI assistant and controlling music playback. The device is currently listed for preorder at $249, with silver and gold finishes and batch-based shipping.
