Amazon has partnered with Uber Eats to provide restaurant delivery services to Prime members across the United States, replacing its existing agreement with Grubhub. Starting November 5, 2026, Prime subscribers can order meals directly through Amazon’s website or shopping application without creating a separate Uber account, with delivery fees waived on qualifying orders of $25 or more.
According to the official announcement, the partnership provides access to hundreds of thousands of restaurants across nearly 10,000 U.S. cities and towns. The benefit is available to all eligible Prime subscribers, including members of the discounted Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access programs.
Uber Eats Delivery Integrated Into Amazon Shopping
Under the new arrangement, Prime members can search for Uber Eats within Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app to browse participating restaurants and place orders. Customers can use their existing Amazon credentials and payment methods without downloading another application.
Amazon will provide email and push notifications containing order status updates, while Uber Eats will send final order confirmations. The integration covers restaurants in major cities, suburban communities, and rural areas.
To introduce the service, Amazon and Uber are offering Prime members $20 off each of their first two qualifying orders of at least $25 during the initial 14-day promotional period. Prime Visa cardholders can also receive 5% back on Uber Eats purchases through December 5, 2026.
Amazon estimates that subscribers could save over $175 annually through the new delivery benefits and exclusive promotions. Actual savings depend on ordering frequency and eligibility.
Amazon Ends Grubhub Partnership After Four Years
The new agreement replaces Amazon’s relationship with Grubhub, which began in 2022 when Prime subscribers received complimentary Grubhub+ memberships. Amazon expanded the arrangement in 2024, making the membership an ongoing Prime benefit.
Amazon confirmed that its commercial agreement with Grubhub ended on November 5. Existing Prime members who previously activated Grubhub+ can continue using their memberships through December 31, 2027, although restaurant ordering through Amazon’s platform is discontinued.
The earlier partnership also included an agreement allowing Amazon to acquire an equity stake of up to 18% in Grubhub, which was then owned by Just Eat Takeaway.com. Amazon elected to cash out its outstanding exercisable warrants in December 2024, before Grubhub’s ownership transferred to Wonder.
Amazon and Uber Expand Existing Business Relationship
The restaurant delivery partnership adds to existing commercial agreements between Amazon and Uber involving cloud computing, autonomous vehicles, and AI-powered services. These include collaborations involving Amazon’s Zoox robotaxi business and the integration of Uber Eats into the Alexa+ assistant.
Amazon Prime currently costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually in the United States. The company is incorporating Uber Eats delivery benefits into its existing membership without announcing an additional subscription charge.
