Luma AI has partnered with Wonder Project to launch Innovative Dreams, a production company focused on using AI tools to reshape filmmaking workflows. The collaboration combines Luma’s generative AI technology with traditional film production to enable real-time creative adjustments during shoots.
First Project And Distribution Plans
The partnership’s first project, The Old Stories: Moses, will star Ben Kingsley and is scheduled to debut this spring on Amazon Prime Video. The project follows Wonder Project’s earlier release, House of David, which premiered in 2025.
Wonder Project, founded in 2023, is led by Jon Erwin and Kelly Hoogstraten, and focuses on content aimed at global faith and values audiences.
Real-Time AI-Driven Filmmaking Process
Innovative Dreams is structured as a production services company where filmmakers collaborate with Luma’s creative technologists. The company plans to use Luma Agents to allow real-time changes to sets, props, lighting, and integration of human actor footage during production.
The approach is described as a “real-time hybrid filmmaking” process, combining elements of performance capture and virtual production. Performance capture records actors’ movements and expressions for digital rendering, while virtual production uses real-time graphics to create environments during filming.
According to Erwin, the system allows filmmakers to capture performances in one setting and place them into photorealistic environments or modify appearances while preserving motion and expression.
Industry Context And Competitive Activity
Other companies are also moving from AI tools into content production. Higgsfield recently launched an original series, while Wonder Studios is developing a documentary with Campfire Studios.
At the same time, Runway co-founder Cristóbal Valenzuela has suggested that studios could use AI to produce a larger number of films with the same budgets typically allocated to a single project.
Luma CEO Amit Jain has similarly argued that AI can address rising production costs by enabling faster and more efficient filmmaking processes.
Scope Beyond Initial Focus
While the partnership includes projects aligned with Wonder Project’s focus, the companies said Innovative Dreams will also work across different genres and collaborate with other studios.
