Amazon has integrated its Luna cloud gaming service into Prime Video, allowing Prime members to launch games alongside films, television shows and live sports. The feature is now available through Fire TV devices in the United States and United Kingdom.
A new Games tab provides access to titles including Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports FC 26, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fallout 4, Clue and Taboo. Amazon plans to add more games each month before expanding the experience to other countries and devices.
Games Stream Without a Console
Users can select a title from Prime Video and begin playing through Amazon Luna without downloading the game or purchasing a console. They can use a compatible controller or connect a smartphone as a controller for selected titles.
Prime members already receive access to more than 50 cloud games through Luna at no additional cost. Amazon’s official announcement said the integration places those games within an app that subscribers already use for other entertainment.
The available library includes larger single-player releases and GameNight titles designed for local group play. Amazon-developed games include Courtroom Chaos and the cooperative card battler Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite.
Prime Video Becomes a Wider Entertainment Hub
Luna games were previously accessed through a separate app or website, requiring Prime members to find the service independently. Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s general manager of gaming, said placing Luna inside Prime Video reduces the time users spend searching for available games.
The integration also gives Amazon another way to keep subscribers within Prime Video when they are not watching films or programmes. Netflix has followed a similar approach by adding games and live content to its streaming service.
Amazon said its aim is to make gaming accessible to people who do not own expensive consoles or gaming computers. Because the games run on remote servers, users only need a supported Fire TV device, an internet connection and a compatible control method.
More Devices and Games Are Planned
Amazon will continue operating Luna as a dedicated cloud gaming service while making its catalogue available through Prime Video. Players seeking a larger library can subscribe separately to Luna Premium.
The company said Fire TV represents the first stage of the rollout. Additional device support and international availability are planned over the coming months, although Amazon has not provided specific launch dates.
