
Superblocks has signed a multiyear agreement with Amazon Web Services to let companies build AI-generated internal applications inside their own AWS environments. The arrangement is designed to prevent company data, application code and AI prompts from leaving the customer’s existing security perimeter.
AWS will also help introduce Superblocks to enterprise customers through its sales and marketplace channels. An AWS spokesperson said the cloud provider supports partners when it sees strong customer demand and alignment with how companies want to build software.
Applications Run Within the Customer’s AWS Account
Superblocks allows employees to generate internal business applications through natural-language prompts. Under the AWS agreement, those applications can run inside the customer’s virtual private cloud and inherit its existing identity, network, encryption and auditing controls.
When an application needs to store information, Superblocks can create Amazon Aurora databases or Amazon S3 resources inside the company’s AWS environment. This differs from some consumer-oriented vibe-coding platforms, which may create databases through outside providers.
AI inference will run through Amazon Bedrock using models approved by the customer’s administrators. Superblocks said prompts and company data will remain inside the AWS environment and will not be used to train external models.
The companies detailed the arrangement in an official announcement published by Amazon.
IT Teams Retain Control Over AI-Built Apps
Superblocks co-founder and chief executive Brad Menezes said the platform brings AI application development directly to a company’s data rather than requiring the data to move to an outside service. IT teams can manage permissions, integrations, databases and application activity through their existing AWS controls.
The structure is intended to reduce the risk of employees creating unapproved applications that connect directly to sensitive business systems. Apps generated through Superblocks automatically follow the company’s authentication, access and audit policies.
Superblocks also introduced a model-routing system that sends simpler coding tasks to lower-cost open models while directing more complex work to frontier models through Amazon Bedrock. The company says this gives customers greater control over model selection and inference costs.
AWS Adds Vibe Coding for Business Users
AWS already offers Kiro, an AI coding tool aimed primarily at software developers, as well as business-focused AI assistants. The Superblocks agreement gives AWS customers another option for letting non-technical employees create internal applications while keeping those projects under IT supervision.
Menezes said enterprises are increasingly adopting several AI models rather than relying on a single provider. He cited demand for model choice across software development, customer service, human resources and sales automation.
Open models accounted for 29% of traffic handled through Vercel’s AI gateway during the previous month, according to figures cited by TechCrunch. Menezes said companies increasingly want the software surrounding their AI systems to remain independent from any one model provider.
Agreement Supports Superblocks’ Enterprise Expansion
Superblocks has about 50 employees and has raised $60 million in total funding. Its investors include Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital and Greenoaks.
The company announced a $23 million Series A extension in May 2025 when it introduced Clark, its AI agent for building internal enterprise applications. Superblocks is also available through the AWS Marketplace, where businesses can request demonstrations and private commercial offers.
