JustWatch has launched its own streaming service, JustWatch TV, offering free ad-supported movies, a paid subscription, and digital movie rentals across 12 markets. The service, launched on October 20, 2026, features content from 30 partners and is integrated into the company’s existing streaming guide, which serves 50 million users worldwide.
The new streaming platform allows users to watch selected movies and television shows directly through JustWatch’s website and applications. Previously, the company primarily helped viewers identify which streaming services carried their preferred content.
JustWatch TV Offers Free Streaming and Paid Subscriptions
JustWatch TV introduces three viewing options, including a free ad-supported tier, an ad-free subscription called JustWatch TV Plus, and a digital movie rental store. The paid plan costs $3.99 per month or $49.99 for a lifetime subscription.
In the United States, JustWatch TV Plus provides access to more than 300 ad-free titles, alongside additional features such as advanced search filters. Subscribers can also hide movies and shows they have already watched or disliked and receive a 10% discount on hundreds of rental titles.
The service primarily features older movies, independent productions, and lesser-known content. Users can also request titles they would like added to the platform, allowing JustWatch to consider viewer preferences when expanding its catalog.
JustWatch Partners With 30 Content Providers
The company has secured agreements with 30 content partners, including Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media. Additional partners include Cineverse in the United States, LEONINE Studios in Germany, SND in France, and Altitude in the United Kingdom.
JustWatch TV is launching across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. Its rental store is initially available in five markets: the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
The service enters a market that includes free streaming platforms such as Tubi and Plex, alongside lower-priced subscriptions such as Roku’s Howdy, which costs $2.99 per month.
JustWatch Expands Beyond Its Streaming Search Guide
Founded 12 years ago, JustWatch operates a streaming discovery platform covering more than 500,000 movies and television shows across over 1,500 providers in 140 markets. Its availability data and streaming rankings also support approximately 1,400 partner websites and applications.
Studios, distributors, streaming companies, and advertising agencies use JustWatch’s audience data to plan marketing campaigns across platforms including Meta, YouTube, and TikTok. Operating its own streaming service will also allow the company to collect additional information about viewing preferences.
Quentin Carbonell, JustWatch’s senior vice president of global content acquisitions and strategy, said the company intends to expand its audience while continuing to direct viewers to other streaming providers. He told TechCrunch that integrating streaming directly into the guide would allow users to discover and watch selected titles within the same platform.
