Meta Introduces Prescription Ready Ray Ban Smart Glasses With Expanded AI Features

Meta has launched two new smart glasses designed for prescription users, expanding its wearable lineup with models intended for all-day use and broader vision correction support.

The new devices, developed in partnership with Ray-Ban, will be available starting April 14 at optical retailers in the United States and select international markets, with prices beginning at $499.

New Designs Target Everyday Wear

The glasses will be offered in two styles: Blayzer, a rectangular frame available in standard and large sizes, and Scriber, a rounded design. Meta said the models are engineered for improved comfort, featuring adjustable components such as flexible hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and customizable temple tips.

The company said the glasses are designed to support a wide range of prescriptions and better accommodate users who wear glasses throughout the day.

Expanded Frame And Lens Options

Meta also introduced new color and lens combinations across its Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta product lines.

Updated Ray-Ban Meta frames include Skyler, Headliner, and Wayfarer variants with different transparent finishes and transition lenses. Oakley Meta models, including Vanguard and HSTN frames, will be available with lens options tailored for different environments, such as golf or varying light conditions.

AI Features Added To Smart Glasses Platform

The company is adding new artificial intelligence capabilities to its smart glasses. These include nutrition tracking features that allow users to log meals using voice commands or photos, with Meta AI extracting and recording dietary information.

Meta is also introducing message summarization and recall features for WhatsApp through its Early Access Program. Users can request summaries of group chats or retrieve specific details from conversations using voice prompts.

The company said these interactions are processed on-device and protected by end-to-end encryption.

New Input And Interaction Capabilities

A feature called Neural Handwriting will roll out in the coming weeks, enabling users to write messages by tracing letters with a finger on a surface. The input method is designed for discreet communication and will work across apps including Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging services on Android and iOS.
