iAsk AI is launching an expansion of its platform into an education-based AI hub aimed at helping students use artificial intelligence as a means of learning rather than just getting answers. This expansion takes place against the backdrop of falling academic scores among U.S. students and the increasing use of AI in daily learning.

According to Dominik Mazur, the CEO of iAsk AI, “Based on the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress, the average score of mathematics of U.S. twelfth-grade students dropped three points compared with both 2019 and 2005.”

To allow students to cope with these learning challenges, iAsk will introduce a variety of new AI-based learning technologies based on guided learning. Through guided learning technologies, the firm seeks to help students learn not only how to use AI to find information but also how to solve academic questions.

Initially launched as an AI search engine in 2023, iAsk AI has seen over 750 million searches since then. Also, iAsk has been able to process up to 1.5 million searches per day, indicating the increasing interest in the use of AI for conducting research and learning activities.

As part of its education-related expansion efforts, iAsk is offering various learning experiences for students in addition to being an AI search engine. Presently, iAsk offers an AI search engine and AI homework helper to assist students and researchers. Also, iAsk provides tools for posing academic questions and getting step-by-step solutions to their homework assignments.

With this expansion, the company aims to help students select the appropriate form of assistance based on their tasks. Thus, iAsk offers AI tutoring experiences that include personalized explanations, allowing students to ask additional questions while studying. Currently, iAsk offers a real-time AI tutoring experience aimed at adjusting explanations to a student’s pace.

“AI is bound to be part of the way this generation learns regardless of how ready schools are for it,” Dominik Mazur, iAsk AI’s CEO, has said. “Our job is to ensure that the students use the power of AI to be better learners and not merely to get quick answers. We want to become the platform where students can learn anything with AI.”

According to the developers, the increasing popularity of AI in the educational sphere provides them with the opportunity to create applications that will assist productive learning. Instead of offering AI as a tool that generates ready-made answers to the students’ questions, iAsk concentrates on making the educational process understandable for the students.

“I find iAsk helpful when I need more than a quick answer,” one of the student users of iAsk has said. “I am able to ask follow-up questions and also analyze explanations and work on challenging subjects at my own pace.”

The education expansion leverages iAsk’s existing student and research user base as the company continues to build a platform that will be able to assist students in different subjects as well as at various stages in their learning process, ranging from research and homework assistance to study and concept review.

With the integration of AI search tutoring and document analysis, iAsk aims to give students a more structured way of utilizing AI technology other than using AI technology to generate answers.

iAsk will continue building its student-oriented solutions as AI becomes even more prevalent in education. It seeks to create an environment where iAsk helps students learn together with AI and develop the knowledge to complete tasks independently.
