Threads Launches New Podcast Tools To Help Creators Grow Audiences

Meta’s social platform Threads has introduced a new set of podcast-focused features designed to help creators promote episodes, engage listeners, and expand their reach. The announcement reflects Meta’s efforts to position Threads as a destination for podcast discussion and discovery rather than a platform for hosting audio content itself.

The update comes as competing platforms, including X, increasingly encourage creators to publish video content and podcasts directly to drive engagement and revenue.

New Podcast Cards And Profile Features

According to Meta’s announcement on the Meta Newsroom, Threads will now display dedicated podcast profile cards and banners on creators’ profiles and within relevant posts.

When podcast creators share episode links, the links will appear as interactive cards that users can tap to access and listen to episodes more easily. The goal is to make podcast discovery and sharing more seamless within the Threads experience.

Transcripts And Guest Tagging

Creators can also publish episode transcripts directly in Threads posts, allowing users to follow along with conversations without immediately leaving the platform.

The new toolkit includes guest-tagging capabilities as well. When creators tag featured guests, Threads generates a dedicated guest card that highlights those participants and helps listeners discover related profiles and discussions.

Users can save podcast-related posts for later, making it easier to return to episodes they want to hear at a more convenient time.

Audience Insights And Engagement Tools

Threads is also introducing tools aimed at helping creators better understand audience behavior.

The platform will send reminders when a new podcast episode is released, encouraging creators to share content promptly with their followers. In addition, creators will gain access to engagement analytics that show how posts perform among followers, non-followers, and overall audiences.

These insights are intended to help creators identify which content resonates most effectively and improve their promotion strategies.

Threads Continues Push Into Creator Communities

The latest update builds on podcast-related features Threads introduced last year, including enhanced link previews and profile integrations for podcast creators.

Meta continues to expand Threads as it closes the gap with X in audience size. In June, the company announced that Threads had reached 500 million monthly active users, strengthening its position as one of the world’s largest social networking platforms.

While Threads is not currently hosting podcast content directly, the new tools signal Meta’s intention to become a key platform for podcast promotion, audience interaction, and community discussion.
