Healthcare’s use of artificial intelligence continues to accelerate, yet many organizations are still operating isolated pilot programmes that struggle to connect across existing systems. At the same time, new requirements under the EU AI Act are placing greater emphasis on transparency, accountability, and the ability to explain how AI reaches decisions. Those shifts have created demand for infrastructure that supports innovation while protecting patients throughout every stage of care.
PatientCentricCare.AI developed PCC Safety OS™ to address that challenge by placing governance inside the operating system itself instead of treating it as documentation completed after deployment. The platform is designed to help organizations create connected AI experiences, including a patient recognition platform and runtime governance infrastructure that extends from the hospital into patients’ daily lives in the home while maintaining safeguards that support organizations in meeting governance requirements.

Squire’s vision is informed by decades of experience in pharmaceutical customer experience as well as his own journey as a cancer survivor. Having experienced healthcare from the patient’s perspective, he wanted to develop technology that helps people stay connected with their care without replacing clinical judgement. The platform’s first phase includes an AI companion that supports appointment preparation, guided reflection, reminders, and patient-controlled care planning, while deliberately refusing to provide medical advice, directing users back to their clinician whenever medical decisions are required.
“As someone who’s been on the other side of healthcare, my priority has always been the patient rather than the organisation,” Squire says. “People shouldn’t have to remember every question before they walk into an appointment or leave without understanding what happened afterwards. AI should make those moments easier while recognizing where it must stop. If someone asks whether they should change their medication, the answer is simple: speak to your doctor. Patient safety always comes first.”
The platform has already undergone early testing with patients in Switzerland, where feedback demonstrated strong engagement among older adults using the multilingual AI companion. Built to support languages including English, French, and Swiss German, PCC Safety OS™ has also been designed to satisfy governance requirements such as maintaining an auditable record of AI interactions and supporting compliance with evolving European regulations.
PatientCentricCare.AI expects PCC Safety OS™ to become available through phased commercial rollout in Switzerland in the coming months, as an informal, early-stage feasibility deployment, while expanding discussions with hospitals and healthcare organizations across France, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. The company is also seeking additional pilot partners and investment to support broader deployment as healthcare providers look for practical ways to introduce trusted AI into clinical environments in order to allow people to age independently in their homes.
