Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly hosting a private dinner for OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on August 29 at her home in the Hamptons, according to Puck. The event is described as off the record and comes as Paltrow becomes increasingly involved with AI through her investments and business interests.
Paltrow is best known as an actress and the founder of Goop, but she is also active in venture investing through Kinship Ventures, which she launched with Moj Mahdara. The firm has backed several AI companies, including OpenAI, Lovable, and Nectar Social.
Paltrow Has Increased Her Involvement With AI
SEC filings show that an investment vehicle linked to Kinship Ventures invested in OpenAI in 2023. Kinship also lists AI-enabled tools and consumer technology among its investment focus areas.
Paltrow has also spoken publicly about using AI in her businesses. Her Goop Kitchen business has signed a lease for space on the ground floor of Anthropic’s San Francisco headquarters, according to the supplied article.
The reported dinner would add another connection between Paltrow and companies developing generative AI products. Goop and OpenAI had not commented on the event at the time of the original report.
OpenAI Has Been Building More Ties With Creative Industries
OpenAI has also been expanding its relationships with celebrities, creators, and entertainment figures. Earlier in 2026, the company hired former Instagram executive Charles Porch as its first vice president of global creative partnerships.
Porch spent more than 15 years at Instagram, Facebook, and Meta, where he worked with musicians, actors, creators, and other public figures. At OpenAI, his role focuses on working with creative communities and developing partnerships around the company’s products.
OpenAI has already started experimenting with more direct creator outreach. Earlier this month, it hosted a luxury retreat in upstate New York for influencers, where attendees took part in product workshops and other activities.
Puck reported that Paltrow’s August 29 dinner will specifically honor Altman. The guest list and other details have not been disclosed.
