Apple has cut more than 200 jobs across teams working on Vision Pro, Siri, and device-focused AI, according to Bloomberg. About 100 of the affected roles came from the Vision Pro organization, while the rest were spread across Siri and the Intelligent Systems Experience team.
Apple confirmed the reductions to Bloomberg, saying it is changing parts of the business as it develops new products and user experiences. The company said it will also create new roles as part of the restructuring, although some existing positions are being eliminated.
Vision Pro Team Takes the Largest Hit
Roughly half of the cuts came from the group behind Vision Pro, Apple’s mixed-reality headset. The company has already reduced its focus on a major Vision Pro hardware overhaul as it directs more resources toward other wearable and AI-related devices.
The remaining cuts affected employees working on Siri and Intelligent Systems Experience, a group focused on integrating AI more deeply into Apple devices. Bloomberg reported that the changes are part of a broader reshuffling toward newer AI projects and hardware.
Apple did not disclose which specific products or teams will receive additional staff after the restructuring.
Apple Is Reworking Its AI and Hardware Priorities
The company has spent much of 2026 adjusting its AI strategy, including changes to Siri and new AI features across its software and devices. Apple is also developing new wearable products as it works to compete with other companies adding AI assistants and visual intelligence to consumer hardware.
At the same time, rising memory costs linked to global AI infrastructure demand have increased the cost of producing some Apple devices.
Apple raised prices on Macs and iPads earlier this summer. It also introduced a device leasing program with Klarna covering its major hardware products, giving customers another way to access newer devices as prices increase.
The restructuring also comes while Apple is involved in a separate legal dispute with OpenAI. Apple has accused OpenAI of misappropriating trade secrets in a lawsuit filed earlier this year.
