Nvidia has formed a strategic partnership with Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a company that develops the power and site infrastructure needed for large data centers. The financial terms were not disclosed, but reports indicate Nvidia has taken a minority stake that could be worth several hundred million dollars.
The companies announced the partnership on Friday. The agreement gives Nvidia another direct role in financing the infrastructure required to support AI computing systems.
Cloverleaf Develops Power Infrastructure for Data Centers
Cloverleaf Infrastructure was founded in 2024 and raised $300 million that same year. The company works between utilities and data center developers, helping secure power, sites, and other infrastructure needed before construction can begin.
That role has become increasingly important as AI data centers require large amounts of electricity and face long timelines for grid connections and site development.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Nvidia’s investment could total several hundred million dollars. Reuters separately reported that Nvidia now owns a minority stake in Cloverleaf.
Neither company disclosed the exact size of the investment.
Nvidia Is Putting More Capital Into AI Infrastructure
The deal is part of Nvidia’s broader effort to support the data center buildout that drives demand for its AI chips and systems.
Earlier this week, Nvidia announced a $1.5 billion investment in SB Energy, a data center developer linked to OpenAI and SoftBank. That agreement also makes Nvidia the exclusive supplier of compute infrastructure for the PORTS-Pike project in Ohio.
Nvidia has increasingly used its profits to invest in companies building the infrastructure needed for large-scale AI deployment. Those investments span data centers, power developers, cloud providers, and other parts of the AI computing stack.
The Cloverleaf partnership extends that approach further into site development and power infrastructure, helping Nvidia support projects before the servers and accelerators are installed.
