The influence of AI is expanding across various industries, including the strictly regulated healthcare sector. London-based health-tech company Huma has unveiled an AI-powered cloud platform designed to help startups create, launch, and scale regulated digital health applications.

Huma has also announced the closing of an $80 million Series D funding round, aimed at expanding the platform’s reach and enhancing its capabilities. With this new investment, Huma’s total capital raised exceeds $300 million. This funding will support the further development of the Huma Cloud Platform and its expansion to more healthcare startups and pharmaceutical companies.
Founded in 2011 as Medopad, Huma has been dedicated to providing digital-first solutions for healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies. The new Huma Cloud Platform simplifies the creation of digital health apps, enabling organizations to develop solutions rapidly and efficiently.
“We are here to accelerate the adoption of digital and AI across care and research,” said Dan Vahdat, founder and CEO of Huma. He compared the platform to Shopify, but for digital health instead of e-commerce. “When digital and AI are scaled, they become affordable for both the poor and the rich. They remain consistent and will help us transition medicine from being reactive to proactive.”
The Huma Cloud Platform is currently available to a select group of startups and pharmaceutical companies through subscription-based or consumption-based pricing models. Huma plans to expand beta access in the coming months, reviewing applications from waitlisted customers. Users of the platform can prototype, launch, and scale regulated digital health apps with ease, even without a technical background.
Huma has worked with partners like Google to develop a library of AI models that can be used to power various care experiences. The company’s platform has already supported over 3,000 hospitals and clinics, most of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, and engaged over 35 million individuals worldwide.
With the introduction of the Huma Cloud Platform, Huma aims to support a new generation of entrepreneurs in the digital health space, providing them with the tools to create impactful digital health solutions.
