Clicks Technology has begun shipping its Power Keyboard, a slide-out Bluetooth keyboard designed to bring physical keys to smartphones without requiring a dedicated keyboard case. The MagSafe and Qi2-compatible accessory can work in portrait or landscape mode and supports phones, tablets, TVs, and other devices.
Clicks said 75% of its first batch of preorders had shipped by August 3, after earlier delays in production and delivery. The company’s current product page lists the Power Keyboard at $159, with a temporary discounted price of $139.
The keyboard attaches magnetically to compatible phones and can also be used with devices that lack MagSafe or Qi2 through a magnetic ring or compatible case. It connects over Bluetooth and can pair with up to nine devices.
Physical Keys Come With Added Size
The Power Keyboard slides out beneath a connected phone and adjusts to accommodate different device sizes. Its keys include adjustable backlighting, dedicated number keys, and customizable shortcuts for functions such as volume controls, page navigation, and other commands.
Its size can make larger smartphones more difficult to hold comfortably, particularly in portrait orientation. Testing with large phones such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Pixel 10 XL found the additional weight made landscape use more comfortable.
The accessory also includes its own battery rather than drawing power directly from the phone, as Clicks’ earlier keyboard cases did. Clicks currently lists a 2,300 mAh power bank that can provide wireless charging to compatible devices, while users can reserve battery capacity for the keyboard itself.
Users can customize keyboard behavior through Clicks software, including shortcuts and directional cursor controls. Apple users can also connect keyboard commands to Shortcuts for actions such as placing calls, turning on the flashlight, or sending messages.
Power Keyboard Precedes Clicks Communicator
The accessory also provides an early look at Clicks’ wider push into devices built around physical keyboards. The company is preparing its Clicks Communicator, a standalone Android smartphone with an integrated keyboard that is scheduled for release in 2026.
Unlike the Power Keyboard, which has to accommodate smartphones with different dimensions and weights, the Communicator is being designed around its keyboard from the beginning. Clicks says the device will run Android 17, include 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and receive support through at least Android 20.
The Power Keyboard can also function as a conventional external Bluetooth keyboard when it is not attached to a phone. Clicks says it can be used with tablets, smart TVs, gaming devices, and other compatible screens, giving it uses beyond mobile typing.
