TokyoAdvantest Corporation, a global leader in the semiconductor testing equipment sector, announced significant growth in its memory testing business, spurred by the soaring demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) crucial for artificial intelligence (AI) tasks.

HBM, a cutting-edge form of high-performance memory, optimizes space and power efficiency by stacking memory chips. Douglas Lefever, CEO of Advantest, highlighted the impact of HBM on the company’s operations. “Currently, HBM makes up roughly 50% of our memory testing business, and we see that continuing in the near-term,” he said during a recent interview. Advantest has reported significant growth in its share of the memory testers market in the fiscal year that ended in March.
