Hasbro has confirmed a cyberattack involving unauthorised access to its network, following disruptions to its websites and warnings of potential delays to product deliveries.
The company disclosed the breach in a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, stating that the incident was identified on 28 March. Parts of its website, along with pages for brands such as Peppa Pig, displayed error messages during the disruption.
Impact On Systems And Operations
Hasbro said it has taken steps to secure its systems, including temporarily taking some services offline. The company added that operations remain active, though certain processes may be affected.
In its filing, Hasbro noted that measures have been implemented to continue accepting and shipping orders. However, these adjustments could remain in place for several weeks and may result in delivery delays.
The company said it has acted to protect its systems and data, though it has not confirmed whether attackers still have access to its network.
Uncertainty Around Data Exposure
Details about the scope of the breach remain limited. Hasbro has not disclosed whether customer data was accessed or compromised, and it is unclear whether the attackers have contacted the company.
The company’s portfolio includes major brands such as Transformers, Monopoly, Play-Doh, Power Rangers, Nerf, and Dungeons & Dragons.
Broader Context Of Cyber Incidents
The incident follows a series of cyberattacks affecting major companies in recent years. Around Easter 2025, UK retailers including Marks & Spencer, Co-op, and Harrods experienced attacks.
Later in the year, Jaguar Land Rover faced a cyber incident described as one of the most costly in the UK. Other affected companies included Asahi and the fashion group behind Gucci and Balenciaga.
