In this unrelated attack, a computer system of the country’s largest school district was hacked via the criminal group that went on to encrypt district data and also demanded about 40 million dollars in ransoms or it’d erase files and then post employees’ and students’ info online. The Broward County Schools, based in none other than Fort Lauderdale, announced in the statement on Thursday that there’s no evidence that any of the personal info has been taken or stolen and it made absolutely no extortion pay to a ransomware group.
