Singapore – AMD has collaborated with Sun Singapore Systems Pte. Ltd., a prominent provider of smart parking solutions in Singapore, to unveil an innovative AI-powered parking system. Leveraging AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices, this partnership aims to revolutionize the accuracy and functionality of parking services across the city-state.

AMD and Sun Singapore have joined forces to introduce a cutting-edge AI-enabled smart parking solution, marking a significant advancement in urban mobility technology. The collaboration utilizes AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices to enhance the capabilities of parking management systems. Key features of this technology integration include:

  • Enhanced Vehicle Recognition: The system incorporates advanced AI algorithms to achieve a 99% accuracy rate in license plate recognition, improving efficiency in identifying vehicles entering and exiting parking facilities.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: AI-powered sensors enable real-time detection of parking spot vacancies, traffic congestion, accidents, and violations, facilitating proactive management of parking facilities.
  • Adaptability and Longevity: By utilizing FPGA-based AMD Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoCs, the solution ensures durability, low latency, and flexibility. This design choice supports future AI advancements and maintains compatibility with evolving industry standards.

The development of this AI-powered smart parking system involved collaborative efforts from multiple industry leaders. PlanetSpark, in conjunction with AMD and Aupera Technologies, played a pivotal role in designing and implementing FPGA firmware and AI vision solutions crucial for accurate license plate reading and real-time data processing.
