Tencent Cloud, the cloud business arm of the global technology powerhouse Tencent, announced on Thursday that it has formed a strategic partnership with Nokia, a renowned provider of network infrastructure solutions. This collaboration aims to support enterprises in Singapore and the broader Asia Pacific region as they enhance their cloud and network infrastructures to embrace the next phase of digital transformation.

In a joint statement, Tencent Cloud highlighted that the partnership is designed to create a seamless integration between cloud services and network infrastructure. This synergy will enable business enterprises, network infrastructure service providers, and data centers to upgrade and optimize their current IT environments, thereby harnessing the full potential of AI innovation.

  • Enhanced Cloud Services: Facilitating a greater and more seamless integration between cloud services and network infrastructure.
  • Optimization: Enabling businesses to upgrade and optimize their IT environments.

The statement pointed out that businesses in Singapore—and increasingly across the Asia Pacific—have successfully migrated basic operational functions to the cloud. This migration has led to significant efficiency gains. Citing Gartner, the statement projected that within the next four years, cloud computing will transition from a disruptor to a necessary component for maintaining business competitiveness. Moreover, end-user spending on public cloud services is projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2027.

As enterprises continue to adopt digital transformation across their operations, they are increasingly looking for ways to optimize their IT applications and services across large-scale, multi-cloud environments. Nokia, a leading provider of IP, optical, and broadband access networks, offers a comprehensive range of network infrastructure capabilities. These capabilities include premium cloud networking, advanced network automation and slicing, and robust cross-border connectivity.

Nokia’s multi-cloud and data center networking solutions address multi-site and multi-cloud connectivity, ensuring the highest levels of security, agility, and scalability. These solutions enable enterprises to streamline their multi-cloud operations, facilitating successful digital transformation and ensuring a superior customer experience.

“By combining Nokia’s network infrastructure capabilities with Tencent Cloud’s expertise, we are able to jointly offer end-to-end, optimized premium cloud services and networking solutions for the cloud and data center industries in Singapore and throughout Asia,” said Sang Xulei, Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific Regional Business Center for Network Infrastructure at Nokia. “Together, we provide significant additional value to enterprises in the region, supporting their digital transformation journeys.”

Bluefin Zhao, Vice-President of Tencent Cloud International, Asia Pacific (APAC), urged enterprises to leverage cloud technologies not only to improve internal efficiencies but also to drive business innovation. “Enterprises with the foresight to adopt and harmonize cloud-based tools to actively pursue commercial results will be able to embrace the AI future. It gives them a strategic advantage over companies that still view cloud solutions as just an efficiency driver,” he added.

Tencent Cloud remains active in recruiting local and regional partners to support its growing business, adding to its existing thriving ecosystem of over 11,000 partners globally. This expansion supports increasing interest from international clients, especially in the media, entertainment, and live streaming industries, as they increasingly adopt Tencent’s cloud-based solutions to transform their operations.

Tencent Cloud continues to grow its international business at a healthy pace. Notably, its Singapore and Malaysian businesses have achieved high double-digit growth for two consecutive years, underscoring the robust demand for its cloud solutions in the region.

In summary, the partnership between Tencent Cloud and Nokia marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation journey of enterprises across Singapore and the Asia Pacific. By leveraging their combined expertise and capabilities, the two companies are set to deliver cutting-edge cloud and network infrastructure solutions, empowering businesses to thrive in the digital era.
