Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has reached an agreement with Huawei to incorporate Huawei’s advanced autonomous driving technology into its off-road Fangchengbao electric vehicle lineup. According to a statement from Huawei, this collaboration will see BYD’s Bao 8 SUV become the first model to feature the Qiankun intelligent driving system. The Bao 8, under the Fangchengbao brand, is expected to be available for purchase later this year.
The use of Huawei’s technology marks a significant step in BYD’s efforts to enhance its autonomous driving capabilities, leveraging Huawei’s expertise in intelligent systems. This partnership reflects a broader trend of collaboration between leading automotive and tech companies in China, aiming to advance autonomous vehicle technology and strengthen market offerings in the competitive EV sector.
