Nintendo’s latest Direct presentation has unveiled a series of major game announcements and updates, giving fans a lot to anticipate. The showcase, which ran for about 40 minutes, focused solely on upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch. Despite prior speculation, the company confirmed that no information about the next console would be shared.
Key announcements included a free update for the popular card game Balatro, introducing custom decks with crossovers featuring The Witcher 3, Among Us, Dave the Diver, and Vampire Survivors. Additionally, fans were surprised by the immediate release of Pizza Tower, a highly-rated platformer that has been well-received on Steam, and the Castlevania Dominus Collection, which brings together three classic DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia, and Portrait of Ruin.
Looking ahead, Sega’s Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first Yakuza game from 2016, is scheduled to hit the Switch on October 24, alongside the quirky dating simulator Date Everything. Just before that, Neva, a platformer highlighted during the Summer Game Fest, is set to release on October 15. Meanwhile, Konami’s remaster of Suikoden is now slated for a March 6, 2025, release. Capcom also announced a new fighting game collection, featuring Power Stone and Power Stone 2 from the Dreamcast era, along with titles like Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro.
