Apple has launched public betas for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18, providing users early access to the upcoming features across its devices.
The iOS 18 beta includes significant updates, such as support for RCS messaging, enhanced customization options for the Home Screen, and the ability to apply a tint to icons and widgets. The update also introduces a redesigned Photos app layout, a more customizable Control Center, and dark mode icons.
Which Devices Support iOS 18?
The iOS 18 public beta is available now, but users should be aware of the potential issues associated with beta software. Supported iPhone models for iOS 18 include:
- iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
- iPhone XS, XS Max, XR
- iPhone SE (second generation or later)
The official release of iOS 18 is scheduled for this fall as a free software update, with the public beta available next month at beta.apple.com.
When Will iOS 18 Be Officially Released?
Some features won’t be available in certain countries, languages, or devices.
For example, the Safari “Highlights” feature will be in English in the U.S., and the live audio transcription in the Notes app will be available on iPhone 12 and later in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K., and the U.S.
Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new generative AI, will be in most Apple apps, enabling actions like composing emails and responding to text messages with Smart Replies. It will work best on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max with the A17 Pro chip and on M1 and newer iPad and Mac devices.
Apple Intelligence will be available in beta this fall.
How to Install iOS 18 Public Beta?
To install the beta:
- Ensure your device was released in 2018 or later and is updated to the latest public version of iOS.
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Select the iOS 18 public beta.
